Durrance Collection: 2018.002

Margaret “Miggs” Durrance with her husband Dick Durrance, documented the evolution of Aspen from asmall town to a world-famous resort, 1947 through the 1990s.

Aspen Illustrated News Collection: 2007.022

Negatives from the Aspen Illustrated News, published from 1965 through 1969, includes photographers David Hiser, Cheri Jenkins, and John Smith.

Robert M. Chamberlain Collection

Robert Chamberlain, a professional photographer and artist, who documented life in Aspen since the 1960s.

Chris Cassatt Collection: 1991.009

Chris Cassatt’s cartoons and images of Aspen/Snowmass were featured in the Aspen Times, from the 1970s through 1990s. Also captured many portraits of community members.

Aspen Flyer Collection: 2020.002

Negatives from the Aspen Flyer, published from the late 1950s until early 1980s, the collection mostly covers the 1960s in Aspen.

Aspen Times Collection: 1998.034

A collection of photographs and cartoons, covering all walks of life, published in the Aspen Times from the 1960s to the mid-1980s.

  1. Looking for a particular image? Keyword search here. Want some help or just beautiful shots of Aspen? Browse here.
  2. Once you find the image or images you want to purchase, write down the number associated with it. It should be an 11-digit number (ex: 2013.048.1813)
  3. After you have all the numbers, either call our archives staff at (970)925-3721 ext. 103 or email archives@aspenhistory.org. They’ll ask you for the image number and the sizes you want. Pricing (plus shipping and/or taxes) is:
