One film about Aspen, titled "Aspen Before Lifts" or "Why Aspen," 1946. It has some terrific pictures of the town when it had very few buildings. It shows the exterior of some of the old public buildings, as well as the interior of the Hotel Jerome. The film shows Aspen Mountain, the early Roch Run, and some school children on the T-Bar at the Little Nell. There is also some footage of a cross country ski race with people in costume, and ski jumping off the old jump hill. The exterior and interior of the Sundeck is also shown. Some people identified in this film are Ray Milland, Gary Cooper, Friedl Pfeifer.
